Ology Exclusive Interview: Elzhi Discusses 'Elmatic' and the Detroit Hip-Hop Scene
Elzhi is an iconic artist of the Detroit hip-hop scene, having worked with J Dilla and the legendary group Slum Village, as well as collaborating with artists such as Black Milk, Royce da 5’9”, Guilty Simpson, and many others throughout his extensive career. His organic mode of hip-hop and vocabularic narrative style of lyricism has marked him as one of the primary role models in the artform, and his recent tribute mixtape, Elmatic, with Detroit ensemble Will Sessions has gathered acclaim across all forms of media and music for its unrivaled sound and homage to Nas’ iconic album Illmatic. A: Everything is wonderful, man. We’re getting show dates put together as we speak, the response has been incredible. I’m appreciative of that. It’s been a blessing. We just did our first show in Detroit and it was crazy packed at this place called The Majestic, and I’m just looking forward to going out and continuing the success of these shows. all the way from that point to now, so if wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have even continued to put it out there, and I wouldn’t even have really tried to finish it because there was a lot of stuff going on, and people were putting out their own tribute projects, and after I’d seen that, I was like ‘Damn, the idea isn’t really that original anymore,’ but if it wasn’t for the people that was asking for it, it might not have came to the light, it might not have manifested. For the second idea that I had was to basically get certain producers in the industry that I admire on the beats, take those actual samples, and flip them to make different beats, and then from that point I would have put my lyrics on those and made them my own songs, but the only person that had the time to do that at the time was Khrysis, so that’s why you hear the “Detroit State of Mind” remix on there because that came from that idea. So when that idea didn’t fan out, I was like ‘Damn, well, what else can I do, well, let’s go the live route,’ so I went with Will Sessions. See, I already had those rhymes written and they were put to the original beats. It was already done. A: To tell you the truth, I’ve thought about it, and I can’t say just yet. I definitely had an idea, which I don’t want to put out there, because I know if you put it out there prematurely, you never know what can happen. I definitely had an idea. I don’t know if I’m going to bring it to life just yet, we’ll see.Things To Do In Detroit Michigan - News

I don’t see anything on the site Henry Ford site about any limitations (you can click on the link above by Henry Ford to see all the info about Target days).
Plus, I believe that we actually visited once on a Target Day when we had an annual pass, and they didn’t ask to see anything, we were able to just walk in. I would call the Henry Ford Museum before you visit just to confirm that before you make the drive, though.

No you do not have to live in the area we live more North by the other bridge and go to the free events. I also wanted to point our though it is not a free day that Greenfield Village will be having all sorts of civil war re-enactors there this weekend. They have battles each day along with all of the normal things to see and do. They even have an awesome memmorial ceremony on Monday. As you may have guessed I will be one of the re-enactors present this weekend. We truly enjoy this weekend and love to see others enjoy it as well!Things To Do In Detroit Michigan - Bookshelf
