"In your hands lies the destiny of a great organization. Let us build it to national recognition. Let us organize it in the interest of young men for a greater America. Let us not fail in this task." Henry Giessenbeir, Jr. Founder 1892-1935

JC Creed

WE BELIEVE
That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise
That government should be of laws rather than of men
That earth's great treasure lies in human personality and
That service to humanity is the best work of life

Quotes from Past and Current Members

“We found the Jaycees a great way to make friends our own age. My husband also found that it was good for his business as many of his first clients were Jaycee members. The group also gave me a great network for my position as a Teton County Extension agent . . . The people we have met through the Jaycees provided our framework for our friendships in the community . . . We have enjoyed serving a greater purpose in our community. From Darren’s involvement teaching shooting sports to my work with the Caring Tree, we have gained far more than we have ever given to the programs and projects of the Choteau Jaycees” — Jane Wolery, MSU Teton County Extension

“The Choteau Jaycee organization has been a driving force in my life. I have drawn on my Jaycee experience and on my Jaycee friendships throughout the state to enhance my business and personal successes. The slogan — “Community Development through Leadership Training” defines the successes of the local Jaycee organization. At its peak we had some seventy members and the women’s group, the Jayceens had close to 50 members. We used the organizations as a way to strengthen our family ties, to make our community a better place to live and to develop us individually into better people. Evidence of the success of the Jaycees can be seen in the active involvement of current and former Jaycee members in local government, schools, churches and other community organizations. Choteau needs the Jaycees to be strong and active to keep our community vibrant.” — Jay Dunckel, Choteau City Mayor.

“Moving our young family to rural Montana was a big change and we knew that it would be vital for us to meet other folks our age in the community.  Our work with the Jaycees has both expanded our social circle and encouraged us to get involved in numerous community projects.” — Jennifer Asselstine, current Jaycee member.

“We joined the Jaycees shortly after buying the Choteau Acantha and moving here in 1990 when we were 24 years old. Some members invited us to a meeting and told us we would enjoy the projects and meet people in our age group. We stayed in Jaycees for the next 16 years, and we wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. We made lifelong friends; we had outrageous fun at events like Octoberfest, men’s and women’s camp outs, and progressive dinners. When our son was born too soon, nearly every Jaycee called us, and we were surrounded by friends who saw us through one of the most trying experiences in our lives. We learned how to hold offices, set budgets, chair events, run meetings, speak in public and many other great skills that have benefited us in our personal and professional lives. Best of all, we had a great time working with a super bunch of people to make our community an even better place.” — Melody and Jeff Martinsen, owners of the Choteau Acantha newspaper
